Unique, Old Doors

There were so many beautiful things to look at! Birds, eggs, antique doors and everything in orange, green, blue, white, & brown. Out of all of the countless personal touches that Erin brought to her wedding day my favorite was the antique broach that adorned her maid of honor's dress. What a special gift and such a wonderful way to honor her best friend.

Jenia & Matt had beautiful wedding - with highlights of cream, green, & orange. But my favorite part of the day was during the ceremony. Before their wedding day, Jenia & Matt each wrote the other a love letter. During the ceremony they created a love box in which they placed their letters & a bottle of wine. Many years from now when the hard times of marriage test them, they will open the box, read their letters, and enjoy a bottle of wine together. This was so special and meaningful to me! Ryan & I were long distance the first year we dated and we wrote each other love letters often... the paper and stamps way. We now have them all in a memory box. The other day I got them out a started reading. It was so special to re-experience our twitterpated, can't-breathe-without-you love for eachother. I treasure these letters so much! And though 7 years later Ryan and I are still beyond smitten for each other on a daily basis, if our love is ever tested I will break out the letters & a bottle of New Belgium La Folie. Thanks Jenia & Matt! What a heart-felt idea!

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Jenia & Matt's wedding guests released hundreds of butterflies. Instead of a guest book, their guests wrote wedding wishes & marriage advice on small cards and hung them on willow branches. They also had a gorgeous ice sculpture with their monogram etched into it.

Last Saturday, Ryan and I drove up to Estes Park to photograph Tricia & Jeff's wedding at Aspen Lodge in Estes Park. They met at a country western bar in California when Tricia approached Jeff (who was appropriately wearing a cowboy hat) and asked him, "Are you a real cowboy?" They have been inseparable ever since. They are such a sweet couple and so in love! They traveled to Colorado to have a mountain wedding, but sadly the low clouds & mountain showers persisted all day. Thankfully, the rain let up briefly for their ceremony and a few outdoor shots!

On February 28th, Ryan & I photographed Brittany & Jeff's wedding at Evans Chapel. We loved getting to know them and their amazing families & friends! Brittany grew up in Texas and Jeff is from London. It was wonderful to witness how they compliment each other's personalities so well. You could tell that their loved ones were incredibly happy for them to have found each other. Their close friend officiated the ceremony and the reception followed at Hotel Teatro's Restaurant Kevin Taylor. The toasts were moving, the food was spectacular, & the company was elated to be there! It was a truly special night.

Brittany & Jeff's wedding was coordinated by Heather & Ashley of Table 6 Productions and the floral designs were created by Andrea of Sweet Pea Floral.

Last Tuesday, I drove down to Red Rocks in Morrison to photograph Julie & Eric's engagement portraits. I first spoke with Julie about a year ago when she hired me to photograph her best friend Alison's new baby.. little Tyler. Then... drum roll.. Julie got engaged! I was so excited to finally meet her and her fiance Eric! They flew up from Scottsdale, AZ to finalize their wedding plans in Vail and decided to squeeze in an engagement shoot. Ryan and I traveled down to Dolores, CO to photograph our close friends Katie & Tim's wedding. It was so fun to be there for every important moment... to take pictures as Katie put on her dress and watch as Tim's eyes lit up as he saw her for the first time. I love knowing them on a daily basis - their quirks and -isms. But seeing them head-over-heels smitten was so moving. It gave me butterflies in my stomach! Katie looked so amazing and Tim was glowing in happiness! It was such a beautiful and memorable day! Last week, I was able to sit down with Katie & her sister Brianna and watch as they viewed her wedding pictures for the first time. We watched her slideshow and like the girls that we are... we all teared up. It is so gratifying to know that Ryan and I were able to capture Katie & Tim's wedding day in a way they will never forget. We love them so much and will miss them immensely as they start their new life in Tacoma, WA.

Being involved in one's community is so important. My husband Ryan & I are so blessed... we have a desire & responsibility to give back to those who are less fortunate. In light of this, I am offering engagement sessions at a discounted rate to raise support & awareness for a local Fort Collins non-profit, Restoration Now. Each $100 engagement portrait session includes 2 hours of photography, all digital negatives, an online proof gallery, & 1 - 8x10 enlargement**. All proceeds will go to Restoration Now.

Restoration Now is a faith-based organization which exists to bring hope to our neighbors through home renovation. Local support agencies don't have the resources to meet all of their clients' needs, especially their housing issues. Restoration Now works with local agencies to organize work projects to help those clients in desperate need of home repairs. They also provide help to the agencies themselves with office remodels and repairs. Recent office remodels have aided Project Self Sufficiency & the Northern Colorado AIDS Project. Whatever the job, the renovation & repairs help change lives. People's spirits are revived as they feel they've been given a fresh start. Restoration Now utilizes the resources in our community to provide physical, spiritual, and emotional stability to those in need. I know that they will have such a amazing marriage!

The ceremony was located at the beautiful St. Malo Catholic Church in Estes Park. I have never in my life seen a more enchanting church.. It's right out of a storybook! The reception was just up the road at Mary's Lake Lodge. It was such an amazing night!

What an fabulous couple! Alexandra and Victor were truly meant to be. They grew up in the same neighborhood in Venezuela and didn't meet until a close friend introduced them in St. Louis, MO. Since then they have been inseparable! I was honored to photograph both their Chinese traditional tea ceremony and their wedding. The weekend was one for the record books - a never ending party with their closest friends and family who traveled the world to be there. The tea ceremony was held in their home in south Fort Collins. Everyone gathered around as they offered tea to their loved ones in exchange for a marriage blessing. There were some touching moments to be captured. The following day they were married at the Marriott in Fort Collins. Then the real party began!

Last Saturday, Ryan and I photographed Julie & Chris' wedding in Boulder. The ceremony was located at the Sunrise Amphitheatre at Chautauqua. The setting was amazing, overlooking the city. A storm was brewing in the backdrop making for some amazing photos. Towards the end of the ceremony we started to feel some raindrops, but the downpour held off just long enough to snap some quick formal shots. The reception, located at the Boulder Broker Inn, was the perfect mix of laughter, tears, and mad dancing! Kudos to the DJ (DJ Jahsonic) for playing all of the great tunes! It was so fun to see Julie and Chris' family and skate crew getting down on the dance floor. What a great group! After the wedding, Ryan & I were talking about what a tight-knit group Julie & Chris have around them. What a blessing to have such amazing friends & family!

On July 20th, Ryan and I drove up to Estes Park to photograph Amanda & Jason's wedding at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. Amanda is from Minnesota and Jason is from Texas, so when it came time to plan the wedding they landed somewhere in the middle. The setting at the Stanley Hotel was breathtaking! Amanda's oldest brother Paul officiated the ceremony. It was really special! They have the most wonderful family... I wish I could claim them as my own!
