"Our quiet mountain setting is the perfect space for a small, intimate, heartfelt wedding. Founded in 1898 and recently named as a National Historic Landmark, Chautauqua has held a special place in the hearts of the Boulder community for more than 100 years. It’s the perfect place to hold one of the most important events of your life. Your event is special; don’t entrust it to just anyone. We have an experienced wedding coordinator on staff to help you with all your needs.

There are two main venues to choose from for your Chautauqua wedding or social event:

THE GRAND ASSEMBLY: The Community House’s main room, the Grand Assembly Hall, is the crown jewel of Chautauqua. Built in 1917, it holds many years of happy memories! The room is all warm wood, surrounded by shelves of antique books, with a bay window at one side. The room has a gas fireplace and a baby grand piano. There’s a 360° balcony inside, and a huge, covered porch outside overlooking a garden with a brick path. The space also includes a kitchen, buffet/dining area, and a bridal changing room. The Grand Assembly is 1,404 square feet and can accommodate up to 75 people. The Grand Assembly rental includes padded folding chairs, five 5’ round tables, seven folding 6 ’ rectangular tables, and three stately antique harvest wood tables. Sorry, we don’t provide flatware, china, linens, or decorations. There is a small garden-level room available in the same building for an additional charge; this room can be rented also as a kids’ room, groomsmen’s changing room, etc.

THE AUDITORIUM TERRACE:A lovely flagstone patio adjacent to the Auditorium, the Terrace is the perfect spot for a quiet, elegant outdoor ceremony. It is reached by a short flight of stairs and overlooks a garden with a brick path. The Terrace has a stunning view of the Flatirons, holds up to 75 people, and is partially covered by a canopy during the summer months. Public restrooms are located nearby, under the Dining Hall. A limited number of tables and chairs are available. The Terrace makes a perfect spot to hold your ceremony, with your reception in the Grand Assembly. Rental fee for the Terrace is $100 per hour, with a four-hour minimum; the Terrace is half price when rented in combination with the Grand Assembly.PLEASE NOTE: The Terrace cannot accommodate private events on dates when the Auditorium is in use. Therefore, Terrace reservations for May through October cannot be booked until the summer Auditorium schedule is finalized, usually not until late April of each year. (We realize this makes it difficult to plan summer weddings; we apologize for the inconvenience.) Beer, wine, and champagne only are allowed at Chautauqua venues when served by your caterer. Please help us preserve our quiet surroundings by using your music and alcohol as a subtle background and to toast your event, rather than as the main forms of entertainment at a party.Viewing times vary daily according to our event schedule and staff hours; please contact us in advance for an appointment. If you would like to schedule a tour or are interested in booking an event, please call us at 303-952-1618, or write to privateevents@chautauqua.com. If leaving a message, please include the expected number of attendees, preferred dates and times, and the nature of your event.

OTHER NEARBY VENUES: There are two other venues near the Chautauqua grounds that accommodate weddings and special events:

The Chautauqua Green - http://www.bouldercolorado.gov/ - Located in front of the Dining Hall near the main entrance to Chautauqua, the Green is an open lawn with spectacular views of the flatirons. This space can accommodate large groups. The Green is a city park, not part of Chautauqua; it is rented through the City of Boulder Parks and Recreation Department at 303-413-7200.

The Chautauqua Dining Hall - http://www.dininghall.net/ - The Chautauqua Dining Hall hosts lovely weddings and special events. The Dining Hall is a separate business, not part of Chautauqua. For more information or to book an event at the Dining Hall, please contact their catering department directly at 303-443-3901 or catering@dininghall.net.

LODGING: To accommodate your out-of-town wedding guests, we have a variety of adorable cottages and lodges available for nightly rentals. Discounts will apply on your event venue rental when your group occupies four or more cottages! Contact our Lodging office. at 303-442-3282 ext. 611 or lodging@chautauqua.com for more information or to check availability and rates."
