The wedding season has officially begun! Last weekend, I had the pleasure of photographing Barbara & Joe's wedding & reception at the Brown Palace in downtown Denver. The ceremony was the perfect blend of emotions & joyful laughter. Barbara & Joe's three children gathered around them as they said their vows. What a sweet & sincere family! There were several memorable moments, but my favorite was when the guys pushed the girls aside to tie up Barbara's bustle before the reception! My insides were rolling in laughter! "Elegant, beautiful, and regal are a few of the adjectives which are often used to describe the Phipps Mansion and Phipps Tennis Pavilion. Located on 5 1/2 acres in central Denver, the estate features the two historic buildings as well as manicured flower gardens, fountains, and expansive lawn areas. Built in the early 1930's by Senator Lawrence and Margaret Rogers Phipps, the facilities are now owned by the University of Denver and are available for really wonderful wedding festivities.

The gracious and sophisticated Georgian style Mansion has a capacity of 125 guests and is known for its impressive art collection, period furnishings, a 17th century English billiards room, and an 18th century dining room which was also imported from England. Both ceremonies and receptions can be held inside or outside weather permitting.

The Pavilion can accommodate up to 250 guests either inside or outside. The structure was completed in 1932 and includes an impressive 8,000 square foot indoor carpeted atrium which features a 55'high glass ceiling. The popular and charming exterior courtyard, which is adjacent to the formal gardens, hosts lovely ceremonies and receptions.

Brides are able to engage the services of the licensed caterer of their choice and are able to supply their own alcoholic beverages. The facility rental includes both tables and chairs.

Retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city to the secluded Chancellor's Suite, located on the eighth floor of the Hotel Teatro. No interruptions are allowed within the wood-paneled walls surrounded by floor to ceiling views of the Rocky Mountains. Carefully selected original artwork, custom designed furnishings and excellent personnel will provide an exceptional environment for executive board meetings, social events or weddings. The Chancellor's Suite is 800 square feet, and comfortably accommodates 50 guests for receptions, executive retreats for 20 attendees and a formal board meeting for 12.

Center Stage - Stage left / Stage Right
Center Stage is located directly below the Hotel Teatro lobby, on the Concourse Level. The exquisite surroundings afford private, well-lit, flexible meeting space, ideal for leadership seminars, business workshops, banquets and corporate meetings. The Center Stage accommodates 50 person workshops, seminar classrooms for 30 attendees or a U-shape conference table to seat 25. Additionally, the room divides into two breakout rooms, Stage Left and Stage Right, accommodating 15 to 20 people each. The walls are designed to accommodate flipchart postings and a wide range of audiovisual needs. In-room alcoves, credenza buffets and the Concourse Foyer provide ideal refreshment locations.

Terrace
Our Terrace function space is tailored to meet our clients' demands while retaining the elegant style of our guestrooms. With state of the art technology and furnishings along with high vaulted ceilings, the space has a very distinct personality. It can accommodate private meetings, receptions and functions for up to 100 guests and includes a separate boardroom for twelve. The Terrace Room boasts 14' windows with a striking courtyard view.

GOLDEN WEDDING VENUE

"The Boettcher Mansion’s Fireside Room, Carriage House and Gazebo can be rented for a wide variety of special events, including weddings, receptions, banquets, milestone (birthday, anniversary and graduation) celebrations, holiday parties, family reunions, religious ceremonies, memorial services and business functions. The following policies pertain to social events and were designed for your optimum use and enjoyment, as well as the ultimate preservation, of our historic property. Our Conference Information Brochure contains additional information on renting the Mansion for business meetings.

THE FIRESIDE ROOM
Once the Mansion’s “great hall”, the 1,100-plus square-foot Fireside Room features a cathedral-beamed ceiling, moss-rock walls, wood floors and an "inglenook" (walk-in) fireplace. Flanked
by the Buffet and Piano Rooms (each measuring 290 square feet), the Fireside Room also adjoins a 1,500 square-foot patio (these areas plus our catering kitchen are included with your
rental of the Fireside Room). Capacity is 150 guests maximum.

THE CARRIAGE HOUSE
Located beside the Mansion, the 440-square-foot Carriage House is available for weddings and other small gatherings. This once-upon-a-time home of horse-drawn carriages and Model T's has its own kitchenette and restrooms, plus French doors leading to a 266-square-foot flagstone
patio. Capacity is 40 guests maximum.

THE GAZEBO
Once Charles Boettcher’s favorite spot for viewing wildlife, our 216-square-foot stone Gazebo provides a romantic site for very small gatherings (up to 20 people, with two benches seating 6 each).

NOTE: For each of the above settings, please review our floor plans or consult with our Event Manager to gain an overall perspective for an optimum setup. We recommend that you rent a tent if you are using either patio.

ADDITIONAL ROOMS
Additional rooms are included with your rental of the Fireside Room. See Event Manager about the usage of these smaller rooms for dressing, babysitting, dining, bar or other needs.

REHEARSALS
Because we are heavily booked throughout the year, rehearsal time is rarely available. We suggest that you rehearse during your free preparation time (see above) or use our floor plan to practice elsewhere.

FREE PREPARATION TIME
When renting the Mansion, we offer you 1-1⁄2 hours of free preparation time before your guests arrive so that you may dress, take photographs, decorate, and set up musical or other equipment. The Mansion will be closed until the prep time stated on your contract.
NOTE: The Carriage House has a 1-hour prep time, and the Gazebo has a 1⁄2-hour prep time."

"You must contact the parish at least 8 months before the date of the wedding. It is best to reserve your wedding date one year in advance. Find out what dates are open for your marriage before confirming halls or other services to avoid conflicting with other celebrations.

Weddings are not celebrated during Lent or Advent.

Weddings may be celebrated on Fridays at 6pm, Saturdays at 12:00 noon and 4pm and on Sundays at 5pm.

A marriage between two Catholics, or between a Catholic and a baptized Christian, may be celebrated within a nuptial Mass. Please specify your preference for a wedding within or outside of Mass. If one of the parties is not baptized, the marriage is always celebrated outside Mass.

Couples living together prior to marriage may certainly have their marriage blessed by the Church, but do not normally have the Eucharist celebrated at their wedding ceremony.

The fee for a wedding at St. Elizabeth is $700. This provides for the use of the church and the coordinator. A non-refundable but transferrable deposit of $600 is due when the date of the wedding is reserved. Final payment of $100 is due no less than one month prior to the celebration. The cost does not include any fees for the musicians (each musician sets their own fee) or for the monetary gift for the priest or deacon who will witness the marriage."
